The Land Group has developed significant expertise in the planning and implementation of complex PFI bids and has a strong track record in achieving the objectives of risk transfer and value for money.
The UK Government launched the Private Finance Initiative in 1992 to harness private sector management, expertise and capital to deliver public infrastructure and services. As a tool of public capital and service procurement, the emphasis of the Private Finance Initiative falls upon service improvements, better value for money, savings in cost and increased efficiency.
The main aims of the PFI are:
The Land Group leads consortia and funds development through its own resources. This PFI work has entailed building up a wide range of contacts in the banking community, assessing the contribution of debt and equity required for individual bids, building financial models and apportioning risk to the most appropriate partner.
The Land Group has the relevant MoD clearances and is working on PFI advice for MoD contracts, in conjunction with Babtie.
